César Hernández (Madrid, 1963), MD, PhD, rheumatologist by training. Working in different positions at the Hospital Clínico San Carlos, Madrid, from 1989 to 2009. I joined the Spanish Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices as Head of Department of Medicines for Human Use in 2009 and stayed there until September 2022 when I was appointed as Director General of Common Portfolio of the NHS and Pharmacy at the Spanish Ministry of Health.
