Artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly seen as a powerful tool in the search for new treatments – especially through drug repurposing. By analysing large sets of data, AI can help identify existing medicines that might work for different conditions – something particularly valuable in rare diseases.

However, do AI-generated predictions actually work when tested in real-life clinical trials?

Cures Within Reach is helping to explore this question through a new funding call. They’re inviting letters of intent for Phase I/IIA clinical trials that will test and validate AI-based repurposing ideas, with a preference for rare disease.
