Simon Gates is Professor of Biostatistics and Clinical Trials at the Cancer Research UK Clinical Trials Unit (CRCTU), University of Birmingham. He is mainly involved in the design, supervision, analysis and reporting of clinical trials in paediatric cancer and rare diseases. Simon has worked in clinical trials for over 25 years, and his main research interest is in improving research methods to make trials more efficient and more useful. He is an advocate for adaptive trial designs, and Bayesian statistical methods in clinical research.
