Dr. Sanges is a Portfolio and Translational Project Manager at Telethon Institute of Genetics and Medicine (TIGEM, Italy).
With a PhD in Genetic Medicine and more than 20 years of experience specializing in rare diseases, she started her career in academia where she focused her research on developing therapeutic strategies for rare genetic eye diseases. Throughout her academic tenure, Dr. Sanges contributed significantly to the advancement of therapeutic approaches for such conditions, exemplified by her numerous publications in esteemed international journals. Transitioning to the industry, Dr. Sanges worked as a Preclinical Development Project Manager, and since 2021, she served as a Portfolio and Translational Project Manager at the Tigem Scientific Office, where she plays a pivotal role in supporting the translation of basic research into clinical applications, with a particular focus on gene therapy and drug repurposing.
