Jaume is a Political Science graduate, specialising in International Relations, with a 20-year strong career on public health issues. His particular area of interest is the intersection between intellectual property rights, innovation, access to health technologies and human rights. His professional experience includes roles in various international organisations, think tanks and non-government organisations.
He leads HAI’s advocacy and campaign work on access to medicines in Europe and beyond, including pricing, transparency, trade and research and development. He is also responsible for following up and interacting with World Health Organization governing bodies and initiatives like the pandemic accord negotiations or the Novel Medicines Platform. He coordinates several EU and international groups working on pharmaceutical policy issues including shortages, promotion of pharmaceutical manufacturing and public return on public investment. He represents HAI at the Public Pharma Europe initiative.
